Contracts and Export Compliance Administrator

We are an Aerospace company in Burbank, CA, looking for a qualified Contracts and Export Administrator to join our team. If your qualifications match the job description below, please submit your resume. We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Duties and Responsibilities
• Negotiates and coordinates additions, deletions, and modifications to contracts.
• Participates in developing contract policies and procedures.
• Application and maintenance of State Department licenses for export items.
• Provides information to internal and external customers.
• Maintains all contracts.
• Identifies and migitages risks.
• Reviews all international shipping documents (shipperse letter of instructions, Certificate of Origin, etc.) prior to shipment.
• Reviews Shipment log for international shipments.
• Provides interface and coordination between company personnel and the customer contact for appropriate resolution of issues, decisions and related contractual matters.
• Responsible for the administration of all export compliance requirements and procedures
• Applies for all export licenses in D-Trade (DSP-5, etc.)
• Performs the duties assigned by the Corporate ITAR Legal department as the empowered official and compliance manager.
• Plans, implements, and directs activities required for the licensing and export of products, defense services and technical data.
• Maintains required records in accordance with export regulations and assists with reporting requirements to DDTC and corporate.
• Supports ainternal export compliance audits and assessments.
• Assists in the preparation and submittal of license applications and Technical Assistance Agreements (TAA's), Distribution Agreements (DAA's) and Manufacturing LIcense Agreements (MLA's) and responsible for the administration of active agreements.
• Assists in classifying Hydra-Electric's product with ECCN's.
• Works closely with General Counsel to ensure continuous improvement of all export systems, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications
• Excellent written, verbal, and customer service skills required.
• Understanding of business concepts and terms.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficient using MS Office application such as OUtlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. 
• Export experience is a plus.
• Must be a United States Person as defined in the ITAR.
• Advanced ITAR training
• Contracts administration training for commercial and government contracts.
• Some understanding of legal terminology. 
• FAR/DFAR knowledge
• Strong understanding of and experience in export functions including:
ITAR licensing
Customer service for International customers
Product classifications
Contracts administration experience
Export order screening
Writing procedures
Employee training
Performing audits
Plant security

Education
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and training. Specialized coursework is required.

Years of experience
• Minimum of 5 years contract administration and ITAR experience preferably in an active distribution/manufacturing environment, preferably within the aerospace industry.

Aerospace Mechanical Project Engineer

 

General Description:

 

The Aerospace Mechanical Engineer will support new product development of Pressure Switch and Transducer products.  The engineer will be a key contributor in adapting both standard designs, and full custom specifications to customer defined requirements.  Designs will require knowledge of electromechanical systems, material properties, Mechanical modeling, welding, vibration analysis and testing.  The Candidate will be responsible for product design, documentation, presentations and design defense to management and customers and coordination with design drafters and production personnel. 

 

Essential Responsibilities

 

  • Design Engineering product design
  • Material selection, Project tracking
  • Design analysis of Mechanical and Electromechanical devices including Finite element analysis
  • Formulate conceptual design of aeronautical or aerospace products or systems to meet customer requirements
  • Perform Robust Design (e.g. Design for Six Sigma and design for manufacture)
  • Preparation of mechanical designs for drawing (GD&T, Monte Carlo estimation and Worst case analysis)
  • Establish and coordinate activities of testing aerospace products
  • Support report writing and program presentations (Customer interface)
  • Coordinate Failure analysis or problem solving activities concerned with investigating and resolving customers' reports of technical problems
  • Write reports such as FMEA, Failure analysis, design analysis, Reliability analysis, and Qualification test protocol

 

Qualifications/Requirements

 

  • BS degree in Mechanical engineering
  • Knowledge of Aerospace design practices (FMEA, Design of experiments, Reliability analysis, Failure analysis or fault tree)
  • An introductory knowledge of statistics
  • Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis, stress-strain analysis and resonance determination
  • Familiarity with Solidworks and COSMOS (or FEA)
