Precision

Manufacturing aerospace grade components requires a high level of precision in all aspects of manufacturing operations.

Having state of the art machine shops, assembly areas, and inspection facilities are a must for this business.

The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines at Hydra are 100% Statistical Process Control (SPC) monitored to spot potential issues early in the manufacturing process. Optimal precision provides fully repeatable and accurate machining operations that yield consistent, reliable components within strict tolerances.

The Hydra-Electric Assembly Department is also well equipped with modern welding processes including Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG), Electron Beam Welding and semi-automatic Fusion Lasers. We also house an enclosed clean room, in addition to extensive precision test and inspection equipment. Our vendor supply quality control department features a powerful Machine Vision System. Each precision component is inspected rapidly and accurately to meet our stringent production schedules.

The high precision of all our machining and assembly apparatus is aimed toward eliminating re-work, and Hydra has succeeded in maintaining a low re-work rate of 2% or less.
