Hydra-Electric Co. produces and services high performance electro-mechanical products for pressure, temperature and liquid flow sensing. Hydra-Electric pressure switches can be used in gage, differential, vacuum, altitude and airspeed applications and on hydraulic, anti-ice, pneumatic, lube oil, fuel, potable water or cryogenic systems.

Other products include thermally operated (temperature) switches, liquid flow switches and aneroid operated valves for aircraft turbine engine gearbox and sump pressurization. Hydra-Electric's extensive product range has been developed to meet the varied and demanding requirements of the aerospace industry. Products are designed to interface with all airframe, engine and ground support systems.

New products include various multi-function switches that provide dual pressure capabilities or pressure and temperature functions. By combining multiple switch functions into one assembly, these products offer space, weight and cost savings on new or retrofit aircraft programs.

Pressure Switches: Operating ranges from 0.25"H20 to 5,000 PSI. Temperature Switches: Operating ranges from 10°F (-12°C) to 500°F (260°C). Flow Switches:Operating ranges from 0.25 gpm to 30 gpm.

Switch service life ranges are available up to 1 million operating cycles. Switches are typically designed to operate in ambient temperatures from -85 °F to 400 °F, withstand vibration up to 25 G's at 3,000 Hz and shock up to 250 G's. Special switches can be designed to withstand vibration to 100 G's and shock to 1000 G's.

Hydra-Electric Aerospace Switches are designed to meet various specifications such as RTCA/DO-160, MIL-S-9395, MIL-S-28827, MIL-S-28788, MIL-STD-810 or MIL-STD-202. These requirements, among others, include: Environmental Test requirements such as Temperature Cycling, Humidity, Moisture Resistance, Salt Spray, Sand and Dust; Dynamic Tests such as Endurance, Vibration, Shock, Acceleration; and various Electrical Characteristic Tests such as Dielectric, Insulation Resistance, Contact Resistance and Bonding

Hydra Electric's patent-pending sensor technologies address many challenges older technologies don't solve. Our aerospace designs focus on high-accuracy, extended service life, elimination of pressure spike damage; are safe at high cycle count operation, and are protected from electrical transients and electro-magnetic interference.

Hydra Electric has addressed enhanced performance requirements emerging from evolving Aerospace technologies to address safety, reliability endurance and performance. These design advances, standard in most designs with some available on request, incorporate patent pending technologies, providing specifications and operating levels not seen previously in sensor systems.

There is no need to compromise on the zero and span error at extended temperatures. For both amplified and millivolt output, sensor error bands are maintained throughout all temperatures.

Effects of EMC, lightning, transient discharge, ESD, EMP and reverse polarity are attenuated for all designs including millivolt output.

Dielectric breakdown voltages typically range from 100 VAC to 500 VAC, with extended values to 5000 VAC.

Pressure sensor service life ranges are available up to 10 million operating cycles. All units are designed to withstand vibration of 25 G's at 2,000 Hz and shock up to 100 G's.
